Aussie Mobile Connect collects personal information directly from you when you apply to become a customer of Aussie Mobile Connect. This information is collected during our application process and includes your name, contact details and date of birth. Some of the information we collect on the application is necessary to open a Aussie Mobile Connect Pty account. If you choose not to provide this mandatory information, we will not be able to process your application. Additionally, we anonymise or aggregate the personal information that we collect for the purpose of carrying out customer analytics.
We also collect personal information where we are required or authorised to do so under an Australian law or a court/tribunal order. This includes:
- under legislation including the Telecommunications Act 1997 (Cth) and the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth).
- for purposes specified in the Telecommunications (Carrier Licence Conditions – Telstra Corporation Limited) Declaration 2019 which facilitates an alphabetical public number directory (known as the White Pages).
- in accordance with the Telecommunications Integrated Public Number Database Scheme 2017 which allows for access by bodies such as emergency services organisations for the purpose of responding to emergency calls; and
- in order to verify your identity for prepaid services under the Telecommunications (Service Provider — Identity Checks for Prepaid Mobile Carriage Services) Determination 2017.
